First Quarter Charity Chosen by FCCU Members
01/09/2023
Thank you to all our FCCU members who voted for our first quarter charity. The results are in! As announced in January, our charity cause focus will be hunger and poverty.
To support this cause, FCCU will be raising money and awareness for Great Plains Food Bank (GPFB). GPFB works with 200 partner food pantries, shelters and soup kitchens throughout North Dakota and Clay County, Minnesota. They also help feed kids, seniors, rural communities, work to improve health and wellness, disaster outreach and help with SNAP program application assistance. Additionally, this network provides needed food assistance to more than 10,000 households each month.
In addition to support and awareness for hunger and poverty, each branch will be holding seperate fundraisers from bake sales, to food drives, scavanger hunts, dress up days and more. Stay tuned and watch for communication on how you can support this cuase at your local branch!
Recently, Fargo staff supported this quarterly charity by joining in on Fargo’s MobilePack event at the Scheels arena. Staff were able to help pack meals for more than 850 kids for an entire year. Thank you to our Fargo staff and volunteers!
There is not a one-size-fits-all approach to ending hunger. If you are in need of food assistance or know of someone who is, visit Great Plains Food Bank to see what resources are available to you. Thank you to our members for your support.
